Careers Pages That Convert

What does your careers page say about you? In 2025, it should say a lot more than just "we're hiring." Today’s careers pages are powerful branding tools that communicate company culture, values, and vision. Ready for some simple actions you can take today that will make a world of difference to potential candidates? We thought you’d never ask!

Lead with your employer brand. Your careers page should instantly reflect who you are as a company through a concise employer value proposition (EVP), a welcome video from leadership, and visual highlights of company culture, values, and benefits. Authenticity is key: real photos, employee testimonials, and day-in-the-life videos resonate far more than stock imagery and overused buzzwords.

Check accessibility and mobile optimization. With over 70% of job seekers browsing via mobile devices, your careers page must be responsive across all screen sizes, compliant with WCAG accessibility standards, and quick to load with intuitive navigation. You can use a free accessibility checker like this one to audit your website and flag non-compliance (not an ad– we just like this one!).

Simplify the application process. Every additional step is a potential drop-off point. Streamline the experience by allowing resume or LinkedIn uploads to autofill forms, clearly stating application instructions and estimated completion times, and limiting required fields to the essentials. Also, seriously consider the need for long, autofill forms to begin with if candidates are uploading a resume anyway.

Highlight opportunities for growth and development. Job seekers want to envision a future with your company, so include information on learning programs, career advancement stories, and clear career pathing visuals. This feeds into your employer branding, so those employee testimonials come in handy here!

Use data to stay informed and improve. Monitor analytics to learn where candidates drop off, what content they engage with most, and which roles attract the most interest. Long application process? Using data to see where applicants drop off can inform that, as well! Using data helps improve content, design, and job marketing strategies over time.

In this ever-changing job market, your careers page can be a powerful first impression. Whether you're attracting new talent or reinforcing your culture to current employees, this is a space that should truly reflect the present company culture and future of the organization.
